History of the Buildings

The Willow Terrace, an eight story stone, brick and concrete structure was built in 1922. Joseph and Joseph, pioneer Louisville architects, designed the 62-unit building at 1412 Willow Avenue. The apartments contain three to eight rooms.  Five years later, in 1927, the Dartmouth was built on the corner of Willow and Baringer Avenues at 1416 Willow, also on plans by Joseph and Joseph. There are twenty apartments in that building, each with eight rooms. Construction cost for the building in 1928 was $450,000. more…
